The Light Fantastic

Will Eades Photography

Galaxies Abound.

The original Tacking Point Panorama. Conditions on this night were perfect; clear skies, vibrant stars, and some slight haze to accentuate the glow of townships to the South. The large group of stars to the right of frame is the Galactic Core of our Milky Way Galaxy. Alpha Centauri, the closest star to our planet, shines bright blue next to the Lighthouse alongside its partner, Beta Centauri. Together they make up the ‘Pointers’ or ‘Leaders’, which show the way to the Southern Cross just above the horizon. Finally, the two brilliant clusters directly above the Lighthouse are the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, also distant galaxies.
